"8.27.00 Meadows Music Theatre, Hartford, CT is the third volume in the DMB Live Trax series. 8.27.00 was the third show in a three-night stand at the Meadows, a show that many fans have listed in their top 5 due to the choice set list and the energy with which the songs were played that summer evening. The 8.27.00 show is available as a 2-CD set or as a digital download in MP3 or FLAC formats. The CD is being offered as a bundle with the popular pinwheel t-shirt remade with the 8.27.00 date as well as a bundle with Live Trax volumes 1 and 2.

The show began with an explosive Dancing Nancies, the first time since 1997 that Dancing Nancies was played as the opener. An almost twenty-minute version of Seek Up built the energy at the show before a perfect transition to Linus and Lucy/Pantala Naga Pampa, which led into a rapturous Rapunzel. The sweet melody of I'll Back You Up came next, surprising the audience and giving them a first chance to catch a breath since the show started.

The energy in the venue climbed again as new song Busted Stuff was played followed by Recently. New songs, Raven, Grey Street, a tremendous version of Bartender and Grace is Gone made the rare set list even more diverse. Another surprise, Daniel Lanois' beautifully written, The Maker was played flawlessly that evening. Carter's drum solo and Dave's performance during Say Goodbye brought everyone to their feet. The band jammed JTR next followed by a direct intro into Ants Marching. DMB finally ended a monumental show with a combination of rare songs as encores: the Stone and Drive In, Drive Out."

6. Typical Situation
7. Little Thing
8. All Along The Watchtower
9. Tripping Billies

4.30.1996 Classic Amphitheatre, Richmond, VA was the show that started the Crash tour. In addition to hearing many new songs for the first time, fans in attendance were the first to hear the new sound system which DMB had recently inherited from the Grateful Dead. This sound system helped to take DMB's live show experience to the next level. The Richmond show was also the show that marks the introduction of multi-track recording on tour. Thankfully, someone was smart enough to realize that fans may want to hear these shows in the future.

Old school fans of Two Step will hear the beginning of the dark side of the song, while Jimi Thing fans are going to be completely blown away by the incredible, almost fifteen minute jam. The band experimented during this show with old favorites and began playing new songs that were soon to become crowd favorites.

The great thing about this show is that it catches the band at a really interesting point in their development. One can still hear the raw energy that the live show was known for, but can also start to hear the polish of a veteran band that is completely comfortable in their surroundings.

8.23.1995 Meadow Brook Music Festival, Rochester Hills, MI is the fifth release in the DMB Live Trax series. 8.23.1995 took place during the tour for Under the Table and Dreaming, DMB’s first release on RCA Records. Dave Matthews Band was just beginning to move from playing smaller clubs and theatres to playing larger amphitheatre settings.

8.23.1995 Meadow Brook Music Festival is another crew favorite. David Ryan Harris, guitarist for Dionne Farris’ band, performed with DMB during six songs of the concert. Rhyme and Reason is a notable song featuring David Ryan Harris harmonizing on guitar with the violin and saxophone parts of the song. A twelve minute Exodus, played rarely in DMB history, was also a highlight of this show. Jimi Thing is also exceptional at fifteen minutes. The encore begins with a soulful solo performance of Typical Situation by Dave Matthews and then explodes into All Along the Watchtower also featuring David Ryan Harris.
